EXCLUSIVE DISNEY LORCANA CARD REVEAL: A brand new Enchanted Clarabelle

Disney Lorcana is approaching its first birthday, and what a year it's been. From the First Chapter to now, we're seeing even further into the Disney universe, with new characters being introduced to the game with each set, to the delight of players and Disney fans alike, and Disney Lorcana competitions becoming ever more popular.  

With the fifth set, Shimmering Skies, imminent, we're delighted to get a look at an as-yet-unseen secret Enchanted card from within. Without further ado, meet the Enchanted Clarabelle: Light on her Hooves!

Clarabelle: Light on Her Hooves 211/204

This Enchanted Disney Lorcana card is an emerald card, with a 7 ink cost – but importantly, it has shift. That means that you can pay 5 Ink to play it on top of an existing Clarabelle – luckily, one has been revealed for this set, with Clarabelle: Clumsy Guest, at a cost of one ink!

Keep in Step

The main appeal of Clarabelle though comes from her Keep in Step Ability, which states:

"At the end of your turn, if chosen opponent has more cards in their hand than you, you may draw cards until you have the same number". This builds on some fantastic draw decks in emerald – Diablo certainly springs to mind – and allows it to be especially effective against cards of a similar draw nature. With a series of low cost cards, against an opponents high card hand, it could allow for a flood of characters on the board each round if played well. 

Card Features

Clarabelle: Light on Her Hooves can quest for two Lore, which whilst doesn't reach the dizzying heights of 5 lore, as first seen in reveals for the upcoming set, is the balance paid for the draw ability. It has a Willpower of 5, and a Strength of 6, which is reasonable given the card cost itself.

The artist for Clarabelle is Natalie Dombois, who hasn't illustrated for Disney Lorcana in previous sets, however is no stranger to Disney, being one of two artists for Disney Dixit.

Who is Clarabelle?

Clarabelle Cow is an anthropomorphised cow, best friend of Minnie Mouse and often partnered with Goofy (though originally with Horace Horsecollar – currently absent from Disney Lorcana). She was part of the original introduction to Mickey Mouse, featuring in Steamboat Willy, and was last seen in the pre-school Disney series Mickey Mouse Funhouse. Disney Lorcana have shown no hesitation in bringing lesser known characters to their game, and making her an Enchanted is a fantastic way to honour Disney fans who recognise her appearance in a number of Mickey Mouse movies and cartoons over the years.
