The Mandalorian Adventures Announces The Clan of Two

Star Wars is no stranger to board games, and The Mandalorian Adventures was one such that let us play in the world of the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. But now, the game is back with a brand-new expansion that is set to take the titular Din Djarin to new worlds. 

Back in April, 2024, Unexpected Games released The Mandalorian Adventures, which took influence from the very first season of the Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni show. Unexpected Games has worked wonders with titles like Voices In My Head, 3000 Scoundrels and The Initiative, and its Star Wars offering certainly fits comfortably within that roster of quality titles. 

The game, designed by studio head Corey Konieczka, seemingly promised future expansions, with the focus on just a single season of the show.  Unexpected Games has now delivered on that tease, with the announcement of The Clan Of Two, the studio’s take on the second season. Fans of the first outing will be glad to hear that Corey Konieczka is back in the pilot’s seat, and is making all the key decisions on the title’s development. 

Set to debut in the Summer of 2025, we are already aware that it will retail at $39.99, without a UK quote quite yet. However, it is important to note that players will need the base game to access this expansion, as The Clan Of Two is very much not designed to be played on its own. 

What is the Clan of Two?

Those who have watched The Mandalorian may already have a sense of how the game’s concept and narrative premises may develop. Fans should check out a special teaser trailer for The Mandalorian Adventures: The Clan Of Two right now, to get a greater sense of the flavour of this addition. 

The expansion debuts four new characters, each of whom had a critical part to play in the season. Fennec Shand, Boba Fett, Bo Katan and the fan-favourite Ahsoka Tano will all be arriving in the game.

Creator Konieczka said “Season 2 of The Mandalorian included some of my favorite Star Wars scenes in the last decade. It was a blast recreating these moments for the board game, and this expansion includes so much more. From Boba Fett and Ahsoka Tano to duels and dangerous cards, I can't wait for you to see all the new content.”

What's in The Clan of Two?

The expansion pack has been confirmed to include 10 cards, 137 tokens, 1 mission book, 4 standees, 2 double-sided Mercenary Mission sheets, and more, yet-to-be announced material. The number of maps in the title will also be doubled, with four new locations making their debut, each of which has been artistically rendered in the mission book. 

Ongoing events and new enemy types have also been added to the title, alongside an intriguing duel deck, which we’re excited to learn more about. Each of these elements will elevate what has already been delivered by The Mandalorian Adventures, and will no doubt be added to whatever Unexpected Games has in store for its inevitable third season.
