A Warhammer 40,000 dice-building game and Fury of Dracula reprint have just been announced

Dice Masters and Star Trek: Attack Wing studio WizKids has revealed its plans for new series of Warhammer 40,000 games, as well as reprints of beloved Games Workshop games left in the lurch by the collapse of its relationship with Fantasy Flight.

Chief among the untitled upcoming projects is what sounds like a Warhammer 40,000 entry in the Dice Masters franchise, described only as a ‘dice-building game’. The series of collectible cubes created by Eric Lang and Mike Elliott already boasts several licensed spin-offs, including DC Comics, Marvel, Dungeons & Dragons, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Yu-Gi-Oh!.

WizKids added that it would develop at least two further Warhammer 40,000 board games, expanding the dark sci-fi universe “across multiple categories” during its multi-year deal with Games Workshop.

The only other detail given was the hint that the games will feature iconic Warhammer 40,000 characters, suggesting a more lore or narrative-driven perspective.

In addition to the brand new games in the works, WizKids confirmed it will reprint hard-to-find hidden movement classic Fury of Dracula and the Talisman-based adventure game Relic, following their unsure fate after the split with original publisher Fantasy Flight.

WizKids’ Warhammer 40,000 games will make their debut in the middle of next year, with no specific release period given for its reprints of the older titles.
