Century: Spice Road publisher Plan B now owns the studio behind Camel Up and Great Western Trail

Plan B, the fresh-faced board game publisher founded by the former head of Pandemic outlet Z-Man, Sophie Gravel, has acquired German studio Eggertspiele.

Eggertspiele was responsible for publishing games including 2014 Spiel des Jahres winner Camel Up, 2012 Kennerspiel des Jahres recipient Village and the recent (and utterly fantastic) Great Western Trail, which was recommended for this year’s Kennerspiel des Jahres. In short: it’s put out a lot of very good games.

Now those games will come from under Plan B, which has also revealed that Eggertspiele will maintain its main office in Hamburg and founder Peter Eggert will continue to contribute to the development of new titles for three years.

Eggertspiele joins Flick ‘em Up and Junk Art maker Pretzel Games under the Plan B umbrella.

Plan B recently published its debut game, Century: Spice Road (which will be reviewed in the August issue of Tabletop Gaming), the first part of a planned trilogy, and has already announced plans for titles from designers including Pandemic creator Matt Leacock.
