Scott Pilgrim, the Canadian slacker-musician immortalised in Bryan Lee O’Malley’s series of graphic novels and taken to the silver screen by Hot Fuzz director Edgar Wright, is getting a card game spin-off.

Scott Pilgrim’s Precious Little Card Game has been designed by Gloom creator Keith Baker and appears to stick closer in theme and appearance to O’Malley’s original comics, with the artist and writer contributing the artwork for the title.

Deckbuilding is used to create storylines in the Scott Pilgrim universe, including the opportunity to take down some of Ramona Flowers’ seven Evil Exes and rack up card combos.

222 cards come in the box, all of which are double-sided to allow players to pick between different responses to the narrative elements – including ‘hard work, empathy or gratuitous video game violence’.

Scott is joined by five companions from the books, each with an oversized character card and unique starting deck of 10 cards.

Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Card Game will be out this summer, published by Renegade. A price hasn’t been confirmed yet.
