A New Lick of Paint (and a Mega Box) for Fresco’s 10th Birthday
The immensely popular ceiling-bothering game, Fresco, gets another outing for its 10th anniversary
Fresco is a classic to many board game players, much like the famous frescos of churches and cathedrals we have all queued for on holiday at least once.
With the 10th anniversary of its release coming up this year, Queen Games have put together a Fresco: Mega Box. This will include four new expansion modules: The Damsels, The Catacombs, The Church Pews and The Dome.
- The Damsel gives players an extra player board for switching tiles and colours in the workshop and market.
- The Church Pews lets players build pews - and what do pews mean? Points, of course.
- The Dome allows end-game expansion in painting the dome once the ceiling side has been completed
- The Catacombs adds further points and coins options with the help of a cartographer.
In addition to this there will be two other games included within the box! These are the Fresco: The Dice Game and Fresco: The Card Game. Just in case you needed more Fresco in your Fresco: Mega Box.
In addition to all this stuff, there has been a redesign of some of the visual assets. Colours are said to be more vibrant and easier to identify for the colour blind, and the paint tokens have been replaced by shaped tiles. Both of these player experience upgrades are welcome and show us all that it's never to late to make your game more accessible.
The Kickstarter is running until November 5 and delivery is expected September 2020.
