Mask of Death and Shadow’s Dungeon inspired by Dorkness Rising and sequel Hands of Fate
Syrinscape, a PC and mobile app designed to add sound effects to tabletop games, has added a pair of soundpacks inspired by the cult films of Dead Gentlemen Productions and Zombie Orpheus’ popular web series.
Zombie Orpheus: Mask of Death spans the whole of the Pathfinder RPG campaign based on 2008 low-budget film The Gamer: Dorkness Rising, a sequel to the 2002 parody of RPGs made by Matt Vancil. Included in the pack is the movie’s soundtrack and one-liners from its villains, plus atmospheric church music and event-specific effects.
Meanwhile, Zombie Orpheus: Shadow’s Dungeon is based on the tabletop adventure bridging Dorkness Rising and its 2013 follow-up Hands of Fate. It includes music from the latter film and a variety of environmental effects and NPC one-shots.
Both packs cost $9.99, with the base Syrinscape app being free to download.
If you’re unfamiliar with the app, here’s an endearingly goofy promo video starring creator Benjamin Loomes as a man having an absolute whale of a time sat alone in a room listening to sound effects on a computer:
