Board to be Wyld
Bill S. Preston Esq. and Ted Theodore Logan are making their way into a new board game set ahead of the upcoming next movie outing for Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves’ time-travelling slackers.
Bill & Ted’s Riff in Time is set after the events of 1991’s Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, itself a sequel to 1989’s Excellent Adventure, and before next year’s long-awaited return Bill and Ted Face the Music.
Riff in Time is being developed by Warcradle Studios, the British miniatures maker behind weird-western wargame Wild West Exodus. As you might expect, it’ll come with miniatures of the Wyld Stallyns, including Reeves’ Ted shredding air guitar and Winter’s Bill fist-pumping. Despite the minis, Riff in Time is said to be a fully-fledged board game.
Other returning characters such as Elizabeth, Joanna and Rufus join “a whole bunch of new ones” – some of the locations mentioned as part of the Bill & Ted’s time-hopping quest include 1990s San Dimas, the Wild West, France during the time of series favourite Napoleon and ancient Greece (philosophise with Socrates!)
There’s no release date yet – or confirmation of whether the game will take to Kickstarter – but more information is promised ‘soon’. Excellent news, dude.
