Knight Games announces a semi-cooperative dungeon crawler, Batman: Escape From Arkham Asylum, that will be launched on Kickstarter this Fall
Batman: Escape From Arkham Asylum is the name of the new Knight Games product: a semi-cooperative dungeon crawler for 1 to 5 players. Backers will play as The Joker, Harley Quinn, Two-Face, Bane, Scarecrow, Poison Ivy or the Penguin. Their goal: getting out of the famous Gotham City’s facility.
However, these characters, represented by 35mm miniatures, will not be the only ones populating the game, Knight Games said. The company’s goal is to make “the biggest Batman project ever on Kickstarter” with enough supporters. Most will be fully playable characters, while others will be skins --different versions of the same model inspired on the TV series, the movies or the video games of the franchise.
The list of characters is not yet completed, so the company has asked their followers to propose names to be included in the game. The Riddler, Mr Freeze or Clayface are some of the most popular at the moment. Furthermore, the game will have expansions to enrich the player’s experience.
Being a semi-cooperative game, the players will need to work together to defeat their enemies, but they will also compete to be the first one to back to the streets of Gotham City. The details of the gaming have not yet been released, but Batman: Escape From Arkham Asylum has been designed to be a humorous game so surprises are expected.
In their fight to escape from the facility, the players will find alarms, closed doors and enemies. The toughest one of them: Batman. A combination of randomness and ability will decide the players’ fate. If all the Super-Villains are caught, they lose. However, escaping will not be enough. Each player will fight to be the most evil Super Villain of Arkham Asylum by meeting their customized goals.
The Kickstarter campaign will start this Fall, although a date has not yet been revealed. For more information, you can check the game’s website: www.batmanescapefromarkhamasylum.com
