Dungeons are Magic?
It’s always nice to have free stuff, and the team over at Wizards of Coast seem to agree. The team are working from home, but continuing to craft stories for our enjoyment. Whilst we can’t get together to play D&D like we have before, they’re offering us some freebies to help, but for all ages, with more to be released over the coming days and weeks.
Presently, though there’s no material for Tuesday just yet, Monday gives us an adventure for levels 5-10 (free and available until 18th May 2020), which sees you trying to rescue an isolated group of dwarf warriors, and with them their cargo, a tablet bearing secrets of an ancient rune. In addition, it’s also offered a colouring page, originally from the 1979 AD&D Colouring album. All of this you can find over on their page, with regular updates planned.
The potential for family fun doesn’t end there, however, as with some surprise a crossover has also been demonstrated for D&D and My Little Pony. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen an RPG and My Little Pony mix, as we reviewed My Little Pony: Tails of Equestria: The Storytelling Game RPG, and spoke with its creator, finding it a charming game with a solid campaign for younger players.
For Dungeons and Dragons specifically, however, there have been sporadic collaborations in the past, such as a charity t-shirt, and a themed episode, but this is now moving into a physical dimension. In a picture posted on Facebook by In Demand Toys, there are five My Little Pony figures are shown as part of the crossover collection, named Cutie Marks & Dragons, which represent a Wizard, Druid, Barbarian, Rogue, and Bard. It also includes its own D20. These are expected to release at the end of July, with pre-orders expected to be available but timescales not confirmed.
