Tickets for championships on sale this Friday
UK Games Expo has announced some of the new and returning national tabletop tournaments to be held at this year’s show.
Qualifying rounds for the UK Catan Championships will be held on Friday June 2nd and Saturday June 3rd, with semi-finals and finals taking place on Sunday June 4th. The winners will receive flights and accommodation for the 2018 Catan Worlds Championships in Germany.
The UK showdown for Uwe Rosenberg’s lauded title Agricola will also be held on the Saturday, with victory again securing flights to the World Agricola Championships.
Meanwhile, proving your skill in the UK Carcassonne Championships on Sunday will earn £250 from UK Games Expo itself towards the cost of attending the World Championships, held at the Essen Spiel fair in Germany this October.
Matt Leacock’s co-op survival hit Pandemic will be the focus of the Survival Regionals on the Friday, with 12 teams of two battling it out for a place in the Pandemic Survival Nationals, which will be held on the Sunday. Claiming first place in the finals will secure flights, accommodation and entry for the Pandemic World Championships.
There will also be national tournaments for Splendor, Ticket to Ride and Mage Wars Arena, as well as new UK competitions for 7 Wonders Duel and Hey, That’s My Fish.
Tickets for the various events will go on sale this Friday, costing around £6 for entry to most of them.
They join the previously announced Star Wars Armada European Championships, which will take place across all three days – entry for that tournament is £24.
