Ravensburger have announced a brand new collection from Disney Lorcana, celebrating the games first year, with a card from each set – and a sneak peek too. It will launch at Disney Convention D23, and will be available subsequently at select stores and parks.
Disney Lorcana burst onto the scene at Gen Con in 2023, making a lasting impact on players around the world. It combined the much loved Disney Animated films with a family trading card game, that brought a simple but strategic gameplay, championed by gorgeous Disney art. The newest set, Shimmering Skies, is due to launch shortly, but with both the anniversary and the huge Disney fan convention D23 on the horizon, Ravensburger have confirmed a rather exciting celebration...
The D23 Collection
The Disney Lorcana D23 Collection is a special, limited collector's set featuring six fan favourite foil cards from previous sets, with expanded artwork to show more scenery from the initial cards. Of course, at the moment there are only five sets confirmed – the D23 collection, therefore, offers a sneak peak at a card from the set after Shimmering Skies, and its Disney legend, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.

D23 Collection Cards
The cards selected are as follows (though note we've used the original card art, not the extended art cards you'll receive in the D23 collection– check out the set pictures for those):
The First Chapter: Mickey Mouse – Brave Little Tailor
No surprise here, as Mickey Mouse was the perfect poster for the brand new game launching, the very first promo, and Brave Little Tailor offered gorgeous artwork to do it with. If they didn't champion Mickey Mouse, we'd be raising eyebrows!
Rise of the Floodborn: Cinderella – Stouthearted
Another key card from the set, Cinderella – Stouthearted was a notable figure, a glimmer of the original Cinderella seen like never before. She remains comfortably in many decks as a strong card, and launched the Floodborn set perfectly.
Into the Inklands: Ursula – Deceiver
Ursula was always going to be a favourite - so much so, she warranted her own Ursula's return. Whilst it's surprising she didn't make her appearance there, Into the Inklands is where she made her mark, and paved the way for what was to come...
Ursula’s Return: Bruno Madrigal – Undetected Uncle
Bruno is a fantastic card for new decks, although his inclusion here feels a little surprising – Diablo has certainly been a standout for this set for example, or even notorious Bucky! You can't deny though, that whilst we can't talk much about him, he's recognisable for this set.
Shimmering Skies: Vanellope Von Schweetz – Sugar Rush Princess
We haven't seen Shimmering Skies yet, but it's especially appreciated when less well known films get some attention – Wreck it Ralph may not be the top of everyone's list, but Venellope is a fantastic character, and a great card to boot.
November 2024 Set Preview Card: Oswald – The Lucky Rabbit The D23 Collection
The reveal of the new card in the new, still name unconfirmed set brings us Oswald – The Lucky Rabbit! Oswald is a two cost card, with 2 Strength and 1 Willpower, and can quest for two Lore. However, during your turn, whenever a card is put into your inkwell, you may reveal the top card of your deck, and if it's an item card, you may play that item for free (where it enters exerted), or you can put it on the bottom of your deck. It's a sapphire card, and with gorgeous artwork of Oswald pulling away his black and white facade to reveal a set behind.

Who is Oswald the Lucky Rabbit?
Oswald the Lucky Rabbit was a character originally made by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks, but the rights for his use came to later sit with Universal, returning to Disney only in recent years. It was this that prompted the focus on a new character, one who would later become Mickey Mouse. His appearance in Disney Lorcana is surprising, but exciting for fans of Disney's history.
Where to get the D23 Set Collection?
The set will be available for £94.99, initially at D23 between August 9th-11th 2024, where Ravensburger will also be offering free promos, including a Mickey Mouse- Playful Sorcerer Promo Card, and a 1st Anniversary Disney Lorcana Mickey Mouse Pin. If you're not attending D23, the collection will also be available at Disney Retail locations (see: Disney Store) in UK and Ireland, from Friday the 9th of August, and it'll be available in Disneyland Paris and the US Parks, and a pop up Disney Experience in Melbourne, Australia.
