And there's not long to wait either
Back on Thanksgiving, creators of Savage Worlds and Deadlands, in collaboration with Paizo, the creators of Pathfinder, announced Pathfinder for Savage Worlds. Whilst exciting, we were missing some specific details such as the when and how – but no longer! Today it's been confirmed that the game will be going to launch through Kickstarter in January 2021, with retail release anticipated for Q4 of 2021.
Paizo President Jeff Alvarez said, “We are thrilled to be partnered with Shane and his amazing team at Pinnacle on this project. I remember when Shane approached us about the partnership over a year ago and to see that we are just a few short weeks away from their Kickstarter is really exciting.”
The core rulebook will include an adaptation of Savage Worlds' game mechanics for players to design, create, and evolve characters within its systems, but for play within the Pathfinder world of Golarion. As a result, you won't need to purchase the core rules of Savage Worlds separately.
The Kickstarter will come as a boxed set of the rulebook, plus other elements of game play like Bennies, Action Deck, Templates, Game master Screen with Adventure, Power cards, and more.
Rise of the Runelords will also come as a boxed set with all six books of the Adventure Path, which gives starting adventures for Sandpoint.
We, of course, recommended Pathfinder in our review of it, so collaborating with the popular Savage Worlds RPG sounds like a great venture! For more information, you can subscribe to their newsletter for updates, but keep an eye on Kickstarter for it's almost imminent release.
Of course, you'll need to get through Christmas first! To help pass the time, we're recommending a few games perfect for the day itself (and beyond), and you can check out that video below.
