Ogre 6e marks first new version of wargame since 2000, and is compatible with Designer’s Edition
Steve Jackson and crew are set to kick off the New Year with a bang.
SJ Games has announced that January 2017 will see the release of a major new installment in the Ogre wargaming series, as well as new spin-offs to Steve’s iconic Munchkin card game.
Ogre: Sixth Edition is the first widely-released update to the 1977 wargame in 16 years, and was originally announced way, way back in 2008.
Essentially an easier to carry version of the Kickstarted Designer’s Edition of the time-friendly tabletop hit, Sixth Edition includes buildable models for three Ogres and a Command Post, as well as new map overlays and a plastic storage tray.
It’s also fully compatible with the Designer’s Edition, which revised many of the rules from the original game, plus those from the G.E.V. sequel.
As well as Ogre 6e, SJ Games will be getting ahead of the February crowd with a Valentines-themed spin-off to Munchkin, including five identical packs of Munchkin cards and envelopes to send to loved ones.
There’s also the Hidden Treasures pack for Munchkin, which comprises all of the limited edition promos for the game produced by Warehouse 23 from 2010 to 2014 – including out of print cards.
