Star Wars: Unlimited, the collectible trading card game from Fantasy Flight Games is continuing its expansion with the launch of a brand new era. Having previously focused on the Rebels and Jedi in the ‘Spark of the Rebellion’ launch, and the scoundrels and criminal underworld in ‘Shadows of the Galaxy,’ Star Wars: Unlimited is now turning its attention elsewhere.

With a trailer announcing the launch, previewing the types of characters and cards that players would be receiving, ‘Twilight of the Republic’ will be available from the 8th of November, 2024.

Fantasy Flight Games has already announced its slate for 2025, including ‘Jump To Lightspeed,’ ‘Legends of the Force,’ and ‘Secrets of Power,’ but there are sure to be other previews on the way highlighting alternative periods from the Star Wars timeline, just as the RPG series did before it. For now though, the focus is on a very familiar setting.

Twilight of the Republic focuses on The Clone Wars

‘Twilight of the Republic’ will be diving deep into The Clone Wars era that was fleshed out in Star Wars - Episode II: Attack of the Clones, Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars - Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, alongside other expanded materials.

As part of this new period, players will be receiving Battle Droids, Clone Troopers, and an array of characters from the conflicts including, Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano, and the Separatist military strategist, General Grievous.

As valuable leaders, Ahsoka and Grievous will present players with a range of advantages. Tano carries the Coordinate action, which allows players to attack with a unit. She represents the Jedi, Force and Republic. Grievous meanwhile, can give a Droid unit Sentinel for an action, and carries the Official and Separatist titles.

Other classic characters, ships, droids and iconography from the battle between the Republic and Separatist armies will be available to collect, and the tabletop experience has already teased the likes of Asajj Ventress, Captain Rex, Commander Cody, and a Clone Wars-era Anakin Skywalker.

Star Wars Unlimited: 2-Player Starter Set

As is often the case, this latest addition to Star Wars: Unlimited will be launching with a 2-player starter set. ‘Twilight of the Republic’ will boast over 250 cards, 2 new keywords, and the introduction of a brand new mechanic known as Token Units. These act just like regular Units, but will be removed from the game once defeated.

Gorgeous artwork adorn the two sets, which are ready to play at a moment's notice. Represented by Ahsoka Tano and General Grievous as the two leaders, newcomers to the game will be able to gain experience with these hands, before moving on to custom setups of their own.

Star Wars: Unlimited - ‘Twilight of the Republic’ is intended to be a great new starting point for fans of the Clone Wars era, and a much-needed new season for those veteran players looking to switch up their gameplay.

Players can already pre-order a range of products for the launch, including a Prerelease Box, Two-Player Starter Set and Booster Packs. Separatist Commandos, Hailfire Tanks, Coruscant Guards, and the 332nd Stalwart are just some of the cards awaiting fans as part of the new season.
