Legendary video game series returning to Jasco’s Universal Fighting System
Street Fighter is punching and kicking its way back onto the tabletop later this month, as the collectible card game based on the iconic video game series gets an official worldwide release date.
Street Fighter: Collectible Card Game has been developed by Jasco and is based on the Universal Fighting System, marking the return of the video game to the card-battling system after almost a decade away. It rejoins fellow video game fighters Darkstalkers, King of Fighters, Tekken and Soul Calibur in the roster of sets based on the UFS framework.
The new CCG will debut with a two-player ‘Turbo Box’, including two full 41-card turbo decks for Ryu and Chun Li, plus two random ultra rares, two learn-to-play mats, a poster and a rulebook. The set costs $24.99 in the US, making it around £20 over in the UK.
Street Fighter characters confirmed to come across to the card game include Sagat, Zangief, Akuma, Vega, Dhalsim, M. Bison, T. Hawk, Cammy, Ken, Sakura, Fei Long and Guile.
The game itself is designed to mimic the low-mid-high combos of its onscreen sibling, allowing blocks and the use of powerful EX moves when enough damage has been taken.
Street Fighter: Collectible Card Game will be released worldwide on June 27th.
