A good news kind of morning
Stonemaier Games have a wealth of big-name games to their name - they've Wingspan, Scythe, Charterstone, soon to have Pendulum, and also Tapestry. Tapestry is a charming and satisfying Civ game, which we reviewed well previously in our November 2019 issue of the magazine, and is described as a competitive, asymmetric, medium weight civilization building game... though in short, you seek to create the civilisation with the greatest historical story. This news is good news therefore, in that Tapestry is getting an expansion.
Tapestry: Plans & Ploys will add new card types, as well as new miniatures, civs, and more. You'll be choosing your new civilisation carefully, whilst seeking your own individual achievements, adding landmarks to your capital city, and keeping an eye on your opponent.
According to its site, the box will contain the following:
- 1 game box (204x204x53mm)
- 7 landmark miniatures
- 5 landmark cards
- 10 civilization mats
- 15 tapestry cards
- 4 new space tiles (and 1 replacement)
- 12 landmark tiles for advancement tracks
- 1 bag for territory tiles
- 4 Automa cards
- 1 core rulebook
- 1 Automa rulebook
It has additionally been answered that the expansion content will not fit within the original box without removing the insert, so for those who prefer this, it's worth being aware of.
The game is for 1-5 players, will take around 90-120 minutes to play, and is suitable for ages 12+.
Tapestry: Plans and Ploys will be available to pre-order from September 2nd, and will be shipped throughout September. Stonemaier Games operate a Stonemaier Champion option, those of which will receive discounted shipping, and will receive their copies first. Once this has been completed, shipping for all orders will occur.
