THE LAST OF US: ESCAPE THE DARK BOARD GAME GOES LIVE ON KICKSTARTER TODAY

The newest entry into the Escape the Dark series is bigger than anyone expected with a tie in with the award winning The Last Of Us video game. This outing sees Escape The Dark Castle creators Themeborne take on their biggest game yet in collaboration with Naughty Dog.

The Last Of US: Escape the Dark board game lets players pick up characters like Joel and Ellie from the video game series and take them on an adventure of their own making. Players will be making their way across locations from the video game in an attempt to get to the safe zone away from the infected wastelands.

The new game takes the popular formula we’ve seen in previous Themeborne games like Escape The Dark Castle and expands it. Rather than a single deck of events and encounters to deal with, we expect that players will be able to move between locations on the board. Players may even be able to split up and make their own way across the infected world of The Last of Us.

The Escape The Dark Engine at the heart of The Last Of Us: Escape The Dark uses a dice matching resolution system for combat and thrives on tense, dangerous encounters. While the original Escape The Dark Castle and Escape The Dark Sector have their roots in Fighting Fantasy gamebooks, this newest outing has a more open world look about it.
