Games you may have missed out on from April 23rd 2020
Kickstarter is the sweet shop of board gamers, and each week we see new additions - new games, new expansions, new equipment, new creators... It can be tough to keep up. Here's a few of the Kickstarters that have launched recently to take a look at, but remember to check back next week to stay on top!
Canvas
Canvas looks to be a quite beautiful game. You’ll layer transparent cards to create unique illustrations, which will gain points based on the number of tokens they hold. There’s thousands of combinations available, and you can also bag a print and play to trial it too (though you may not get the full effect).

Lords of Vegas 10th Anniversary: Underworlds & Boss Bundle
From the makers of Lords of Vegas, comes a long awaited upgrade kit and expansion for the game, in line with it’s 10th anniversary. Lords of Vegas is a city-building Eurogame, where you’ll play as casino moguls, bulldozing the cheap motels of Las Vegas for ‘meccas of gambling and debauchery’, rolling yourself on those casinos for some extra cash. The Kickstarter offers the Boss Bundle version, which is suitability a mobster briefcase containing slots for everything in the games – including an upgrade from paper money, to poker chips. The expansion, Underworld, they say they’ve been waiting to make for a decade, and you’ll be amid mobsters, thieves, grifters, and accountants.
Current Status: Funded
Pledge to get the game: $24 (approx. £20) for the expansion only
Kickstarter Ends On: Thursday 14th May 2020

The Great Barrier Reef Game
We’ve seen some great games focussing on wildlife recently, and this entry is a card game for sea life lovers (or just cool games, so they say!). You’ll curate part of the Great Barrier Reef to balance the ecosystem as best as possible by carefully laying cards to encourage the reef, but discourage predators. They say it’s easy to teach, easy to travel with, and you’ll be able to see the world wherever you are with it. It’s a 2-5 player game that can be completed in approximately 15 minutes.
Current Status: 49% Funded
Pledge to get the game: $15 (approx. £13)
Kickstarter Ends On: Wednesday, 20th May 2020

Curators: Collectors Conundrum
You’ll play as the Head Curator for a museum, in a euro style, tile laying game for 1-4 players. Your actions will be dictated by your employees, and with their help you’ll be seeking to expand the museum and its collection. Playtesting in this game has highlighted the unique action selection mechanic, and praised the clear rules (which you can download straight from their Kickstarter page).
Current Status: 83% Funded
Pledge to get the game: SEK 380 (approx. £31)
Kickstarter Ends On: Wednesday, 20th May 2020
MORK BORG CULT: FERETORY
Complimenting the recently success full Mork Borg game, Mork Borg Cult: Feretory is a collection of tables, monsters, items, classes, rules, and ideas that can be used in the Mork Borg game. This includes community content, as well as exclusives created by Pelle and Johan. Some of this you can already find online (though the latter will remain in the Zine only), but this gives you the option to gain the collection in print. Plus, there’s a tonne of additional merchandise purchasing opportunities within it. If you like Mork Borg, you’ll want to check this out.
